In 1926, sculptor Pail Fjelde completed three cast bronze statues of Col. Hans Christian Heg of the 15th Wisconsin Infantry. One stands in Heg Park in Norway Township, where he lived and recruited men for the 15th Wisconsin Infantry. The other two stand at the state capitol in Madison and in Heg's hometown of Leir, Norway. Heg's statue in Heg Park in the Town of Norway, was restored and rededicated as part of the local bicentennial celebration.
