M1908 6 inch field howitzer

The M1908 6 inch field howitzer was the standard American heavy howitzer before WWI.  Approximately one hundred of these weapons had been produced before 1917 and all were employed for training stateside.   It is unique among American artillery weapons in it has the recoil cylinder located above the barrel.
